So Halloween is tomorrow and I know this illustration isn’t scary…  and I also know that we don’t celebrate Halloween in Australia very much.. But just for a bit of fun I thought I would have a halloween themed illustration..

Anyone dressing up as a bear for halloween?

Lately all I feel like doing is reading! Its a good thing, but the bad side is the fact that it results in becoming quite unsocial! Regardless, I love reading..
At the moment I have been reading “The strangest Adventures ” series. I have just completed reading The shadow thief. Here is a brief run down:

Mili is a young girl with a reckless spirit who is always on the look out for an adventure!  Her and Ernest, her best friend live in Drabville a city which lacks colour, imagination, individuality and freedom. All seems ordinary except the one house with the red door knocker. Milli and Ernest soon are to discover that the towns peoples shadows have been stolen and that has resulted in their towns lack of happiness. See shadows allow a certain freedom and they contribute to the person you choose to become.  All the talent and joy that once filled the town has gone leaving nothing left but the beings themselves. 

So there you are, I hope I didn’t give to much away.. Oh and by the way, check out the cover art!! Its very eye catching! Well it was the first novel I noticed among shelves of books, so that says something..

Before I had finished making this, the item on my desk that held my pencils was just a manufactured item made of plastic. Now my pens and pencils sit in a one of, hand made pencil holder!!  The design of the girl listening to the whisper of her teddy  was found on flickr a very long time ago and I am sadly unable to tell you precisely  where  it came from.  
You are probably unable to see it, but just above the teddy’s hand that is covering his mouth I have painted glitter paint to represent the magical words that he would say! 

What do you think the teddy would be whispering to the little girl? Sometimes I do wonder..

A while ago a stray cat took up residence at my house.  Everyday she sits on the pot plant near the window and  absorbs the sunshine. Sometimes I go outside to read a book and she curls up next to me and places her tiny face on my page and it is almost as if she is reading. I think if she had a previous life as a human she would have been a librarian… So I tried imagining her as one and then put it on paper..

Maybe 2 or so years ago I started knitting a quilt… and.. I am sad to announce.. I never finished it.. Yes, its true, my unfinished quit sits in an environmental bag at the end of my bed.. incomplete. I should get my knitting needles out and persevere, but some how I just can’t bring myself to do it…. So for now I will just look at some pretty quilts rather then continue my own.. …. One day I will finish my quilt..one day..

This lovely quilt ( that I wish was sitting on my bed) was found at sandra juto’s cute little online store! Mine is not even close to this, maybe..MAYBE if I ever finish mine it will go up.. but until then lets admire this one..
