Sushi by the ocean!

My friend was telling about this magazine called Beads and Buttons and I became intrigued, and when she said she had a copy of the December  issue with her I was excited!  The magazine is packed with loads of jewelry inspiration but above everything in that magazine this stood out!  beadwork
This amazingly creative piece of bead embroidery was completed by Linda Rettich.

I heard the quote ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ the other day and I thought of this. Anyone else would have seen quite simply a platter of sushi, but those who find beauty in the everyday will be inspired.
Shell bead dresses
A couple of pages down and there I found this also created by Linda. The top part of the cute little dress are beads, the bottom however are shells. How unique. I love it : ) Shell dresses
I feel like eating sushi by the ocean now..

Valentines Day

Feb 12 2010 | 9 Comments | Uncategorized

Valentines day is this weekend!  The day to give love, to receive love and to share it around. Valentines day is about showing someone how much you care about them. So this is my valentines illustration for 2010 and I dedicate it to my friends and family. Without you my life would be pretty dull… and there wouldn’t be much magic at all..

Keep our forests Lush.

Feb 8 2010 | 5 Comments | Uncategorized

I believe it is very important to look after the planet. Whether it be simply placing your rubbish in the bin or turning of a light when not in use. If you are unaware of the dangers of palm oil then here is a heads up.
“The global demand for palm oil is causing a staggering amount of deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia. Indigenous and traditional people are being forced from their forest homes, orangutans slaughtered, and the recently logged land is being planted with palm oil trees.”
Lush is a the worlds first commercially available palm oil free soap base. They say that the only way to tackle the problem is if palm oil becomes less popular. Not only is Lush friendly to the planet they also create the loveliest soap you may ever come across.  This includes the adorable magic mushroom soap and my personal favourite ‘blue skies’ bath bomb.  Lush bath bombs
There online store in Australia is here. Or there US store here.
You will come out with a groovy looking soap and a warm feeling knowing you have done the environment a favour.

 Stay environmentally friendly !
